Deletion frenzy!!!

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 10, 2006, 7:36 AM
  • Listening to: Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
  • Reading: Jean Jacques Rousseau - The Social Contract
  • Watching: the world going stark raving mad
  • Eating: Muesli
  • Drinking: Orange Juice and Water
I recently deleted nearly 50 of my deviations because i thought itīs time to get rid of some old stuff. I just wanted to make some space in my gallery and to be honest, they were rather crappy. I suppose it is some kind of new start on dA after nearly 2 years of absence.

But now iīm back with my new toy (Sony alpha 100) and i hope that after my exam next week i will be able to make a few more pictures that are at least better than the crap i deleted. No great art but at least something that suits the eye.

Hope to hear from all of you.....and i promise i will spend more time on dA in the future :)

The song of the day!

Johnny Cash - Man in black

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

Especially the following lines seem to indicate that nothing really changes:

Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

The song of the day!

My song of the day is : Arctic Monkeys - When the sun goes down

My advice to all of you is to hear that song til your ears bleed......i did so! :)

Artist: Arctic Monkeys
Album: Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Year: 2005
Title: When The Sun Goes Down

So who's that girl there?
I wonder what went wrong
So that she had to roam the streets
She don't do major credit cards
I doubt she does receipts
It's all not quite legitimate

And what a scummy man
Just give him half a chance
I bet he'll rob you if he can
Can see it in his eyes, yeah
That he's got a driving ban
Amongst some other offences

And I've seen him with girls of the night
And he told Roxanne to put on her red light
They're all infected but he'll be alright
Cause he's a scumbag, don't you know
I said he's a scumbag, don't you know!

Although you're trying not to listen
Avert your eyes and staring at the ground
She makes a subtle proposition
I'm sorry love I'll have to turn you down

And oh he must be up to summat
Want half a chance to show he's more than likely
I've got a feeling in my stomach
I start to wonder what his story might be
What his story might be

They said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
Around here
Around here

And look here comes a Ford Mondeo
Isn't he Mister Inconspicuous
And he don't even have to say 'owt
She understands she's here to get picked up

And she's delighted when she sees him
Pulling in and giving her the eye
Because she must be fucking freezing
Scantily clad beneath the clear night sky
She don't stop in the winter, no and...

They said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
Around here

They said it changes when the sun goes down
Over the river going out to town
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
Around here
Around here

What a scummy man
Just give him half a chance
I bet he'll rob you if he can
Can see it in his eyes that he's got a nasty plan
I hope you're not involved at all

Just a general question! Wahssup with your life at the moment?

My life at the moment is not very exciting but i like it that way. 2 weeks ago i started a little job at a local newspaper (nothing special just sitting in front of a computer), i try to earn some money for a new dslr (i fancy the d7d from konicaminolta) and to save a little bit for the future. In about 2 years i will have to pay tuition fees and i donīt want to be forced to raise a credit. If i am lucky i can work there for a few months.

On thursday i remembered that i have to write an essay of 6-8 pages for this week and because of my courses and my work i wonīt have much time. Instead of partying i have to read Luhmann what is indeed very interesting but i also hate him for his style of writing.

I donīt see my friends very often, but i try to keep in contact to all of them. I got hundreds of thoughts and questions on my mind while i listen to coldplay and audioslave. Especially the lyrics of "be yourself" from audioslave causes a lot of thoughts about my life and my future.

So what is going on in your tiny little minds and your lifes??? Tell me....iīm curious.

 to all of you
